1. What is Type And Creator Changer?
You want to convert the type and creator of any file? You want to give you own type and creator or to give the same ones as other files? You want to perform the type and creator conversion on several files at once? You want to associate file with the applications of your choice?
Then Type And Creator Changer is what you need!

Type And Creator Changer allows you to change the type and creator of any file manually or like another file.
- It works with any kind of file (applications, documents, folders, ...).
- You can launch it by double-clicking or by dropping on it the file you want to change the type and the creator.
- It supports full drag and drop to select the original files and the target file you want your original file to be like.
- It also accepts any kind of type and creator as target thanks to two free edit fields.
- It has an options and help drawer to help you perform specific tasks when selecting the target document or application.
- It has a fast conversion drawer to perform fast conversion even on several files at once.

Under MacOS 10.13 High Sierra, if you're launching the Application for the first time, MacOS' GateKeeper (which you can configure in the "System Preferences") will refuse to launch it because you've not downloaded it from the Mac App Store (but from our website). In this case, instead of double-clicking on it, all you have to do is to right-click on the Application's icon, and then select the "Open" menu. A message will appear in which you'll be able to confirm that you want to launch the Application (even if it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store from an Identified Developper).

Version 9.0:
- A full recompilation has been made to be compatible with El Capitan and Sierra, and as Universal Binary to keep being compatible with both old (PowerPC) Macs and recent (Intel) Macs.

Version 8.0:
- A full recompilation has been made to be compatible with Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite.

Version 7.1:
- A problem of bad resizing of the main window, when drawer windows are open, has been temporarily corrected by closing those drawer windows when the main window is moved.
- A problem when saving the preferences at shutdown has been corrected, because of MacOS' non-safe way of quitting the applications at shutdown.
- A problem when checking for an available update has been corrected.

Version 7.0:
- A full recompilation has been made to be compatible with Lion.
- A full recompilation has been made again as Universal Binary to keep being compatible with both old (PowerPC) Macs and recent (Intel) Macs.
- Minor bugs have been corrected.

Version 6.1:

- The Windows menu has been added.
- The options and help panel has been converted in to a drawer.
- A fast conversion drawer has been added.
- The converted items are instantaneously updated in the Finder.

Version 2.1:
- It accepts file drag and drop almost everywhere, even on each edit field and each push button, to ease its use.
- It has an options and help tab panel to help you perform specific tasks when selecting the target document or application.
- Some windows and some menus have been corrected.
- The documentation has been updated.

Version 2.0:
- A full recompilation has been made to be compatible with Puma.

2. How to register?
As long as you use it unregistered this Application works normally, but it has a time limit and annoying windows (Registration window, Popup windows, ...).
To register it you just have to purchase a registration code on our website.

3. How to install it?
No particular installation is required. Once you've downloaded the ".dmg" package from our website, it should uncompress automatically (in your "Downloads" folder or on your Desktop). If it does not, then you can double-click on it to uncompress it.
Then you just have to move the created folder into your "Applications" folder (or any other location) and double-click on the Application to launch it.

Particular case of MacOS 10.15 Catalina:

Under MacOS 10.15 Catalina, if you're launching the Application for the first time, MacOS' GateKeeper (which you can configure in the "System Preferences") will refuse to launch it because you've not downloaded it from the Mac App Store (but from our website). 4. How to uninstall it?
There should be no reason to do this. ;-)
However, if you really want, then you just have to throw the Application into the trash, and that's all.

5. How to use it?
The "Windows/More options and help" menu:
It allows you to show and hide the options and help drawer.

The "Windows/Fast conversion" menu:
It allows you to show and hide the fast conversion drawer.

The "File to modify" group box:
It contains the name, the type and the creator of the file you want to change the type and the creator.
The file can be selected by clicking on the Select push button or by dragging and dropping it on the Select push button.

The "Change into" group box:
It contains the type and the creator you want your file to change into.
This type and this creator can be entered manually in the 2 edit fields, but you can also select a file with the Select push button if it has the type and the creator you are interested in. You can also drag and drop the file on the Select push button if you want to retrieve its type and creator.
The Revert push button allows you to revert the type and creator to their default values.

The "More options and help" group box:
It helps you to select the type and/or the creator by selecting specific files or applications.

The "Fast conversion" group box:
It allows you to convert instantaneously the single file or an unlimited group of files by assigning them the type and the creator indicated in the main window. Just fill in the type and creator you want to change them into and then just drop the files in the window. That's all.
