1. What is Function Keys Mapper?
You want to quickly launch any application, open any file or any folder with the F1 to F19 function keys of your keyboard? You want to improve your efficiency by rapidly opening them from your keyboard?
Then Function Keys Mapper is what you need!

Function Keys Mapper allows you to quickly open any application, file or folder with the function keys of your keyboard.
- You can use the F1 to F19 function keys and combine them with the shift, control, option and command keys to define your own keyboard shortcuts.
- You can create up to 95 different shortcut combinations.
- You can associate any shortcut combination with as many applications, files and folders as you want.
- In combination with AppleScripts (which you can call), you can perform an infinite number of actions such as sending commands to the System, the Finder or any other application, restarting or shutting down the Mac, taking screenshots, typing text, ...
- You can add or remove as many shortcut associations as you want.
- It appears in the right side of the menu bar.
- It doesn't need any installation which makes it very easy to use.
- It is available in Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Traditional Chinese and many other languages.

Under MacOS 10.13 High Sierra, if you're launching the Application for the first time, MacOS' GateKeeper (which you can configure in the "System Preferences") will refuse to launch it because you've not downloaded it from the Mac App Store (but from our website). In this case, instead of double-clicking on it, all you have to do is to right-click on the Application's icon, and then select the "Open" menu. A message will appear in which you'll be able to confirm that you want to launch the Application (even if it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store from an Identified Developper).

Version 8.0:
- A full recompilation has been made to be compatible with El Capitan and Sierra, and as Universal Binary to keep being compatible with both old (PowerPC) Macs and recent (Intel) Macs.

Version 7.0:
- A full recompilation has been made to be compatible with Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite.

2. How to register?
As long as you use it unregistered this Application works normally, but it has a time limit and annoying windows (Registration window, Popup windows, ...).
To register it you just have to purchase a registration code on our website.

3. How to install it?
No particular installation is required. Once you've downloaded the ".dmg" package from our website, it should uncompress automatically (in your "Downloads" folder or on your Desktop). If it does not, then you can double-click on it to uncompress it.
Then you just have to move the created folder into your "Applications" folder (or any other location) and double-click on the Application to launch it.

Particular case of MacOS 11 Big Sur:

Under MacOS 11 Big Sur, if you're launching the Application for the first time, MacOS' GateKeeper (which you can configure in the "System Preferences") will refuse to launch it because you've not downloaded it from the Mac App Store (but from our website). In this case, instead of double-clicking on it, all you have to do is to right-click on the Application's icon, and then select the "Open" menu. A message will appear in which you'll be able to confirm that you want to launch the Application (even if it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store from an Identified Developper).

NB: We're not distributing our Applications through the Mac App Store, because Apple's fees policy on the Mac App Store is not financially respectful of developers and small and medium companies, and consequently, at the end, of customers.

4. How to uninstall it?
There should be no reason to do this. ;-)
However, if you really want, then you just have to throw the Application into the trash, and that's all.

5. How to use it?
Launch it and associate any shortcut combination with as many applications, files and folders as you want.
It appears in the right side of the menu bar.
The best way to use it is to add it in the Login items (in the System Preferences panel) so that it is automatically launched each time you turn your Mac on.

The "About..." menu:
It allows you to display the application About window.

The "Preferences..." menu:
It allows you to open the application Preferences window containing the built links.

The "New shortcut" push button:
It allows you to create a new shortcut between a keyboard keys combination and an application, a file or a folder to open.
When you create a new shortcut, select the keys of the keyboard shortcut and select the application, the file or the folder you want to open.
You can open several applications, files and folders at the same time with the same keyboard shortcut by creating as many shortcuts as needed.

The "Modify shortcut" push button:
It allows you to modify the selected shortcut.

The "Remove shortcut" push button:
It allows you to remove the selected shortcut.

The "Quit" menu:
It allows you to quit the application.

AppleScripts:
You can edit the AppleScript examples provided in the "Examples" folder with Apple's "AppleScript Editor" application located in the "Applications/Utility" folder.
