3. How to install it?
No particular installation is required. When you download the .dmg package, it should uncompress automatically. If it does not, you can double click on it to uncompress it.
Then you just have to move the created folder into your Applications folder and double click on the application to launch it.
4. How to uninstall it?
There should be no reason to do this. ;-)
However, if really needed, you just have to throw it into the trash, that's all.
5. How to use it?
Launch it and enter your Mac OS X administrator password in the Preferences window.
It appears in the right side of the menu bar.
The best way to use it is to add it in the Login items (in the System Preferences panel) so that it is automatically launched each time you turn your Macintosh on.
The "Preferences..." menu:
It allows you to open the application Preferences window.
Enter your Mac OS X administrator password and click Start to activate the acceleration.
NB: For general security reasons your Mac OS X administrator password must not be blank; you must have a real password, and enter it in CPU Speed Accelerator.
Set the percentage of acceleration to assign between 0% and 100%: 0% means no acceleration at all and 100% means full acceleration.
When the acceleration is FAILED it means that you did not enter the right password. The application needs your Mac OS X administrator password to always give the maximum priority to the foreground application.
When the acceleration is ACTIVE it means that the application automatically detects the foreground application and that it redirects unused power of your CPU to this application. The power of your Macintosh can be increased by up to 30%.
This is all the more efficient since your applications use intensively the CPU (such as games, video, 3D, animation, calculations, etc...). The more you need power, the more you get!
The "Quit" menu:
It allows you to quit the application.
When you quit the application the acceleration stops of course.
If you want to give more CPU to your background applications, you just need to reduce a bit the percentage of acceleration assigned to your foreground application.
If you can't turn the acceleration to ACTIVE (i.e. if it remains FAILED), then you must check that your account has "admin" rights (in the Account panel of the System Preferences).
If your account does not have "admin" rights, then you can't activate the acceleration.
Ask the administrator of your Macintosh (who has "admin" rights) to turn your account into an "admin" account (by giving you "admin" rights in his own System Preferences).
If you are the administrator of your Macintosh (i.e. e.g. if there is only one account on your Macintosh which is your account), then you should not have any problem because you should have "admin" rights by default.
If the acceleration remains FAILED and if your password contains very special characters, try to change your password in the System Preferences so that it contains more common characters.
